Small things that make your networking presentation stronger.
Your weekly presentation
Make the ask specific
Name a type of person, business or place. "Restaurant owners in Salem" works better than "anyone who needs accounting".
Tell a short story
The problem, what you did, the result. Use real numbers only if they are true.
Give something concrete
A free 30-minute check, a small audit or a chapter offer. Say exactly what it is.
Keep Intro and Close steady
Say your name, company and category slowly at the start and end. Change the LCD and Ask when your focus changes.
Use the practice timer
Practise aloud three times. If you run over, cut words. Do not speak faster.
Use five cue words
Remember Intro, LCD, Ask, Give, Close. Do not read from your phone.
Participation report
Fill every blank
Pitch Studio leaves ___ where a number or name is missing. Fill them in before you speak.
Thank people by name
Name your visitors and the members who gave you business. Do not say "Thank you BNI".
Keep numbers accurate
Count your 1-2-1s, referrals, testimonials, thank-you slips and next week's visitors before the meeting.
Speaking instead of typing
Use Chrome
The Speak buttons work in Chrome. On iPhone or other browsers, use the microphone on your keyboard.
Find a quiet place
Speak slowly and clearly, then edit the text. It is faster than typing.
Speak in one language, write in another
You can speak Tamil and ask for English, or the other way round.
For Tamil presentations
Read it aloud once
If a word sounds stiff, change it to the word you would really say.
English business words are fine
Referral, category, 1-2-1 and chapter are often said in English, even in Tamil.
Try two styles
Simple and Friendly often sound the most natural. Keep the best lines from each.

Add your chapter name so you can see how many members joined from your group.
Show a QR code at your meeting
